The Beauty Babies i have been loving this past month.....
I still cannot believe that today is the last day of September. The month rushed by so quick. It was also my birthday month so overall it was a pretty good month. I have concentrated on flawless glowing looking skin so my make up has mostly been natural looking with a few days of bold lipstick. There were actually some other beauty items i fell in love with towards the end of September; so I'm sure i will put those into my October favourites....
Nars Luguna Bronzer
This dark matte bronzer powder i have been using to contour my cheeks and ever so slightly down the sides of my nose. I find it wears well and lasts all day (when using my make up fix sprays). I'm sure everyone and their mama have heard of this product but i don't tend to reach for it a lot if I'm honest, as i am more of liquid contouring fan. This bronzer along with my real techniques contour brush is amazing and my face instantly looks slimmer. So i have been loving it this month.
Mac Mineralize skinfinish natural
Mine is is the shade Medium Plus. If you have been following me on here for a while or on Instagram you would know i only really use Mac face powders and i instantly just fell in love with this one. It doesn't give me as much coverage as my Studio fix, but i use this over my studio fix for that extra healthy glow in my skin, or alone over a light liquid foundation for a natural look. It so sheer and pretty on my skin leaving it looking airbrushed and feeling baby soft. ( My other half can't stop kissing my cheeks all the time ). Its definitely worth the money in my opinion. Perfect if you like to have glowy radiant looking skin (with a good skincare regime of course) and look natural. It is not cakey at all no matter how much you apply.
Chanel rouge coco shine- Fetiche
I am completely and utterly in love with this lipstick and actually think its my favourite lipstick i own yet. Its a pretty natural color so i can wear it day or night. Chanel calls "Fetiche" a rose color and puts it under its violets/berries grouping. I feel its a cross between this and neutrals and its not very dark and is pretty sheer (at least on my skin type). It is best described as a demure, mauve based rose pink with tiny gold shimmers to it. Its very natural looking and conditions my lips.
Australis Killer Curves Mascara
Now this pretty baby i was sent as part of an International Beauty swap with the lovely Laura (LauraBeautyxox aka My make up twin lol) In Australia. I am very picky about Mascaras, i have tested a lot and most have failed me. However this affordable little beauty i have fallen for. The brush is very thin with short bristles. The consistency of the formula is different and at first i thought it was very dry, but its this formula that exaggerates my eye lashes, making them longer and flirty. I don't find that it thickens my lashes (I usually have to use another mascara for thickening on top if i want this result) But most days that i am just wanting a natural looking eye, this has ended up being my everyday mascara. Very similar to my Cargo lash activator ( that i mentioned back in my April favourites).
NYX Hd Concealer in Yellow
I invested in this after Lovemelisamichelle mentioned how much she loved it in one of her YouTube videos. Being in England it was impossible to get so i found it in the states and paid double the price, but i must say it was so totally worth it. (Though i just typed it into the search bar and found it cheaper here on a UK site, yay im stocking up) I love this so much i actually reach for it more than my mac prolong wear concealer and mac prep'n'prime highlighting pen. Its perfect at highlighting all my areas where the light naturally hits and also for making under my eyes appear brighter and more awake. (Which i am pretty sure all us mommies look for) It blends like a dream, while obscuring imperfections, discolouration and under eye circles while not creasing or looking cakey at all. I love it. Best beauty find of this year in my books.
Yardley Royal diamond
Ok so we all know now i am officially a fan of Yardley. I loved the Royal English Daisy perfume all of spring & summer 2013, but as it came to autumn i wanted to find something affordable ( as i spray a hell of alot through the day- i kind of have a small phobia of smelly people and smelly things so at least i always smell nice lol) that would flatter the season. So after a good 40 minutes of sniffing perfumes in Boots, i came across this sweet scent by Yardley. How Yardley Describes this perfume:
A sophisticated, sparkling fragrance opening with a touch of pear and bergamot surrounded by a subtle note of honey, with a delicate romantic floral bouquet at its heart of rose, peony and lily of the valley, enhanced with a soft, woody and vanilla base.
Lush Squeaky Green Shampoo Bar
I have searched for years for a shampoo that would clean my scalp but without drying it out or being full of sulphates. My scalp is very sensitive so alot of shampoos tend to dry it out. This was recommended by one of the staff at my local Cambridge Lush store and i have to say i am very happy i went in and asked. This lovely little bar of natural products lathers up in your hand to create a shampoo. Which removes about 95% of the dry flaky skin on my scalp and leaves my scalp feeling clean and fresh without it feeling like its had layers stripped off of it. It's 100% natural and not to forget it smells AMAZING!! I let it dry in the open air so my whole bathroom smells of it. Perfect if you have a sensitive scalp.
Argan Oil Natural Hair Treatment
I had tried a few other brands of argan oil but the majority seemed either too thick or runny in consistency. Then one afternoon while browsing around my local Boots store in Cambridge i came across this oil (it was between this and the loreal one, which i will purchase this week) and once i managed to smell it, i was sold!! The smell is so amazing and i find the oil penetrates my hair well (i even use it on my weave hair). It smooths my hair and leaves it looking shiny and healthy. Oh how i wish someone could create a hairspray that did the same thing.
Loreal EverRiche Perfect Elixir
I had seen reviews on the shampoo and conditioner all over the bloggersphere and every social media site out there. So i knew i wanted to try the shampoo & conditioners out for myself and even more so after discussions via twitter with both VO5 and TRESemme, where they both told me i had a sensitive scalp and should try Sulphate free products (pretty nice huh, most companies just make people buy their own products regardless). So i always take on board both of these companies opinions. Anyway, i can't just buy a shampoo and conditioner i am a full treatment kind of girl (i need a leave in conditioner and a deep conditioner too) so i decided to try this elixir out, and i am in love with it. I actually don't rinse this out and my hair drinks it up. It smells divine, leaves my hair soft and its easy to comb through.
Loreal Eversleek Conditioner
Again after recommendations from other fellow bloggers with Afro/Mixed afro hair i decided to give this a go and i am loving it. I don't have to use a lot like i usually do with conditioners (mostly non afro branded conditioners). Even on a rushed morning and where i only have a spare minute to let it sit on my hair, it nourishes it beautifully. The best part is since i have been using it ,my hair is 90% more frizz free and it defines my curls. Its definitely up there in my top favourite conditioners and i am a conditioner junkie lol
So those were the products i have been loving the month of September 2013.
