A question i definitely get asked frequently over on my Instagram is "what are my favourite lipsticks?" So i thought since i own so many (yes shamefully over 100, diary of a lipstick-a-holic) and i love a variety of shades that i would do a blog post on my favourite shade 'Nude Lipsticks. You can never go wrong with a nude lip, its classic, sophisticated and if your nude shade is chosen correctly it can have your lips looking very full and volumptuous. I already have fairly full lips but a nude lip is a favourite of many girls who are not blessed with full lips. So many women embrace their inner Kylie Jenner or Kim Kardashian and over draw their lips, fill in with a nude lipstick and top of with a gloss to make create that sexy full looking pout. Kardashian Selfie anyone lol??...
Now for the fun bit, lets meet the nudes that made my Top favourites (in no particular order)
- MARC JACOBS Lip Gel in the shade SEVERINE. £23.
This is a peachy nude shade so is great for someone with a warm undertone (where as cool undertones really suit a cool toned pinky nude). Its perfect teamed with a bold eye look or a sexy smokey eye. The consistency of this lipstick is soooo nourishing. Its opaque yet moisturising and glossy looking. I actually purchased this lipstick from another fellow makeup addict but the lipsticks can be purchased for £23 from the Marc Jacobs store on Mount street London (which is a 10 minute walk from Selfridges). I hope stores here in the UK will soon start selling online like stateside, i would be buying these lipsticks in every shade lol.
-CHARLOTTE TILBURY K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in the shade PENELOPE PINK. £23.
This is probably my favourite of all the Charlotte Tilbury KISSING lipsticks, it looks like my lips but better. A nude with a subtle hint of pink. Is it a nude or is it a pink? The lipstick is very opaque you only need one swipe and i personally find them longwearing on myself. I team this lipstick with either Iconic nude lip liner or Pillow Talk which can pull this lipstick either more nude or more pink. This nude compliments pretty much any eye look from a simple coat of mascara to a smokey eye. Its the perfect pinky nude for that sophisticated lady who leans more towards a nude than a girly pink.
- MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in the shade BLANKETY. £15.50.
Another lipstick that pulls just slightly pink. Upon swatching it appears more beige and less pink than it is on the lips (I have pretty pigmented lips) Mac describes this as a soft pink beige online which i would describe as spot on description (unlike a lot of their shades lol). As an Amplified Creme finish its very opaque & pigmented, fairly long wearing and gives a pretty glossy sheen to the lips. Depending on the liner used it can be pulled more towards pink or beige. The wear time is around 2-3 hours for me and i always line with a lip liner to prevent any feathering.
- CHARLOTTE TILBURY K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in the shade HEPBURN HONEY. £23.
Probably the sexiest nude of the Charlotte Tilbury nude lipsticks. From the Sophisticate line, this lipstick its aimed to be timeless, stylish and chic. The lipstick is a light peachy medium brown with warm undertones, i do find this lipstick tends to pull more on the brown side and will show up more brown on lighter skin tones. Its such a classic pretty nude, perfection with a smoked out eye look.

- TOM FORD Lip Colour in the shade SABLE SMOKE. £37.
A Mid toned Caramel Nude with a hint of peach. The peachy beige shade of this lipstick makes it compliment the lips beautifully without washing you out. Its so perfectly creamy that it doesn't dry out the lips. The colour is buildable, so you can have a light wash of colour of full on opaqueness. Tom Ford Lipsticks are some of my favourite,as i have sensitive lips and these make my lips feel so nourished. This lipstick is beautiful with subculture lip liner from mac.

In the sister family shade wise to Blankety only its pulls more pink. Mac describes this as a muted neutral pink. This is a favourite of mine to layer over any lipstick i feel pulls more brown to add a bit of depth to my lips. I was tempted to put this into my favourite Pink lipsticks but i felt this fit better into my pinky nudes. The Cremesheen finish are one most comfortable of the Mac lipsticks to wear on the lips for me personally, some find them drying but i personally do not (and i find most lipsticks drying). The cremesheen formula also comes in many neutral shades so it proves to be one of Macs most popular shades. Many of my favourite mac lipsticks are from this finish/range.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in the shade NUDE KATE. £23.
A neutral beige with just the right slight hint of peach not to wash you out (no concealer looking lips). Charlotte describes it as a "The perfect beige, inspired by the inimitable Kate Moss - The Nude Kate K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick is any rock chick’s ideal clutch companion. So slick on my rich sultry biscuit-beige hue and adopt an insouciant pose immediately…" I find this lipstick a bit drying on me compared to the other KISSING lipsticks but it is very longwearing. Its beautiful with nude gloss over top.
MAC Lustre Lipstick in the shade NAKED BUD (Limited Edition).
For some reason this lipstick is pulling slightly more pink on camera. Unless you can find this shade on eBay you cannot get this shade in store anymore. I took to temptalia.com to see possible dupes and i will say that Marc Jacobs Lip Gel in Dizzy Spell is a great dupe/match (I guess i am going to have to buy that too then lol) so if you stroll past a Marc Jacobs counter or order pop into a Sephora give it a swatch. I think the Marc Jacobs lipstick finish will actually be nicer than the mac one. Though i personally like Mac lustres as they are my perfect mommy staple to just throw on without needing a mirror to apply (no one wants a run away stroller now) Most people tend not to like Mac lustre lipsticks because they aren't opaque or long wearing like the rest of the lipstick finishes. But some days i just want a subtle hint of colour on my lips while walking to and from school that i can wipe off when i get back and can safely smother my baby with kisses without leaving lipstick all over them, these lipsticks are perfect for my lifestyle. They only last around 1-2 hours but they give an effortless pretty look to the lips. This shade in particular is a pretty subtle peach with a slight gold tone over top, its my reach for if i have done my eyeshadow and want to down tone my lips to balance it out.
URBAN DECAY Revolution Lipstick in LIAR. £15-£15.50
Originally this would have been replaced with Urban Decay Naked lipstick especially as Liar is a very dark shade, but i mix this with myth lipstick to lighten in the centre and it gives a beautiful ombre effect. Liar is a warm medium rosey brown shade. The consistency of these revolution lipsticks are some of my favourites on the market. I find them creamy and long wearing (longevity they are like alot of mac's matte lipsticks) and they are very pigmented and opaque. I personally find them creamy on me. They last around 4/5 hours on me.
