My Favourite Blushers for Spring - For Light to Medium Skin Tones

* Purchased

Every season like many beauty bloggers and make up addicts i find myself reaching for certain blushes. As the Seasons change my Blushes change and these are the blushers I have found myself reaching for throughout the spring season of 2015, neglecting all my others....

Lets talk about the blushes I have been loving this spring. For me personally during the springtime I like a light dusting of colour on my cheeks. I tend to go for sheer coverage foundations, dewy liquid highlighters and that J-Lo bronze glow, so i tend to lean towards a bright brush to add to the healthy glow i am going for.

The blusher that I  have reached for the most is a Bobbi Brown Blush in the shade 'Pretty Coral' (shade 31). In the pan this blush looks almost neon and totally out of my comfort zone, but is so different on the skin. After a lovely makeup artist at my local Bobbi Brown counter placed this on my cheek while I was getting matched for a bronzer, I instantly fell in love! As the name suggests this is a true bright coral shade with a matte finish which compliments warm skintones perfectly, especially anyone with medium/olive complexions. It gives the most beautiful flushed finish to the cheeks and a little goes a long way. It really brightens up my face and I think i am going to be loving this throughout the summer months too.

Sticking with the Peachy side of the colour spectrum I have been reaching for Mac 'Melba' (pan) and Mac 'Peaches' a lot. Peaches is a perfect true peach shade where as Melba is a lighter slightly pinkier version of Peaches. Peaches is Super Super pigmented so you need a very light hand with this. Its matte finish makes it great for all skin types especially darker skin tones with oily skin as it will last all day. Melba is beautiful on every skin tone but i would recommend more for light to medium/olive skin tones. Its the perfect Peach shade to go for if your just getting into peach tones and want to step away from the pinks but not too far.

Another blush in between peach and pink is my Chanel Blusher in the shade 'Rose Initiale' (Number 72). This blush is the only one i have reached all season that is a shimmer blush. It is sheer in colour with tiny gold glitter reflects. If you don't like sparkle or have very large pores on your cheeks this blush isn't for you, as it will just enhance them. Its the perfect spring/summer peachy pink shade for tanned, bronzed looking skin. It would be too sparkly on fair skin as a blush but would be beautiful used lightly as a blush topper which is how i use shimmer blushes when i am pale.

Now onto my neutral tone blush, I  have been Loving the super affordable Whipped Velvet blush my MakeUp Academy. If i am honest i haven't personally liked much from MUA at all (just their matte liquid lipsticks) so when i saw these in my local Superdrug store i was intrigued, especially as i have been on a proper cream product kick recently. I picked up a few shades but i have reached for the Shade Spry almost every day on days that i want a natural makeup look. It is so smooth and blends into the skin beautifully. It is a perfect neutral mauve pink shade with a teeny hint of white/silver shimmer particles to add a touch of glow to the cheeks. Its not very long wearing but its easy to touch up throughout the day. Love it!

Jumping into the girly pinks now is one of my Holy grail blushes the Hourglass 'Luminous Flush' Ambient lighting Blush. A beautiful soft cool toned baby pink. This blush is one of a few that i wear all year round. It is so light you pretty much cannot use a heavy hand with this. The colour looks so natural on the skin no one would even be able to tell you are wearing blush, honestly. If i recommended any blush to invest in it would be the hourglass blushes, but only if you are into sheer natural blushes. The finish is a natural satin finish that leaves the most beautiful glow giving that lit from within appearance to the face.

Lastly the brightest blush of the bunch Clinique Cheek Pop blush in 'Berry Pop' (number 03), this shade actually looks more bright on my skin tone than it does in the pan. A fun bright berry fuchsia pink with a satin finish. the texture is really creamy and is pretty long wearing. A summer staple, and ideal for people who tend to prefer a sheer everyday blush but would like to step out the comfort box and try something a bit more brighter. This isn't too over the top.

So those are my most reached for blushes this Spring. What have yours been?

Thanks for Reading Lovelies
