Who doesn't want to look like a Golden Goddess this Summer? The Charlotte Tilbury Golden Goddess Luxury eyeshadow palette can help to achieve that.
Following my Charlotte Tilbury Cosmetics Collection post which you can read here, I am now writing my opinion on one of the most popular of her eyeshadow palettes ' The Golden Goddess Luxury Eye palette'. As stated this is one of Charlotte's most popular palettes along with the 'Sophisticate Luxury Palette' which consists of all matte eyeshadow's because of the neutral-toned shades. The Golden Goddess palette is perfect to achieve that sultry smokey-eye look during the bronzed up summer months, and is also one of my personal favourite's....
Each of Tilury's high-calibre top-quality palettes contain four eyeshadows houses inside a pretty vintage burgundy compact with rose gold accents. Each compact also has a full size interior mirror which is great at helping to apply up close with ease. The shades within help you to create that gorgeous smokey eye look that Charlotte has made her signature look over the years. Each quad contains just 5.2g of product which is just a little smaller than a MAC quad which comes in at just under 6g.
The Golden Goddess Palette contains Warm Golden-Bronze tones, and i feel that this palette compliments all eye colours. The quad contains a mixture of eyeshadows with matte, shimmer and glittery finishes. All of the colours in the quad work together incredibly well, and can be used to achieve either a natural eye look or a dramatic evening look.
Each eyeshadow within the palette all have a separate role to Prime (base shade), Enhance (crease shade to create depth), Pop (to bring out the center of the eye) and Smoke (to smoke out the outer lid and bottom lash-line). You will be creating smoky eyes like a pro before you know it. Each eyeshadow shade has the potential to be worn alone as well as paired with others to create an array of eye looks.
The Prime shade i would describe as a warm champagne.
The Enhance shade i would describe as a neutral taupe-mink.
The Pop shade i would describe as a warm brown based bronze.
The Smoke shade i would describe as a golden bronze infused with glitter particles.
The Pop shade i would describe as a warm brown based bronze.
The Smoke shade i would describe as a golden bronze infused with glitter particles.
- The Prime Shade can be used as a highlighter in the inner corner and underneath the eyebrow. It can also be applied all over the lid to unify the look. It is a beautiful very light beige almost champagne shade with a very creamy satin finish.
- The Enhance shade is ideally the transition shade for the crease but it can also be applied all over the lid to add some dimension. The shade is a medium taupey kind of brown also with a smooth satin finish.
- The Smoke shade will intensify and smoke out ( as the name suggests ) the eye look. It can be applied into the deepest part of the eye the outer corner and also along the lashes. It is a warm almost bronze based brown and is fairly shimmery, its beautiful.
- Pop is a pressed glitter pigment which can be applied in the center of the eyelid, i find it applies best with the finger for more intensity. Unlike other glitters it is a very wearable glitter that flatters all ages. In the same harmony as the smoke shade it is a a bronze brown just not as warm. It stands out without being too obnoxious.
The rich gold toned eyeshadows are very finely milled and soft and easy to blend, however i do find the glitter shades in the palettes swatch better on my fingers than they transfer onto my lid using a brush which is why i recommend using the warmth of your fingers. My personal favourites in the palettes are the Enhance & Pop eyeshadows.
L-R Prime, Enhance, Smoke, Pop
The Golden Goddess palette retails for £38 which i personally feel is kind of pricey for the quantity and quality of the packaging, considering it is the same price as an Urban Decay Naked or Stila eyes are the window palettes. I feel the cheapest packaged item in her whole makeup line are the Luxury eyeshadow palettes, as the material is very light and flimsy. I do feel they could have been made out of a more weighted material like the Tom Ford quads. Sadly two of my eyeshadows have actually fallen out of the cheap packaging (in my uptown girl palette due to not much glue used) and i didn't even take them travelling, i most definitely would not take with me when travelling. However i love using these luxury palettes at home getting ready.
Despite the packaging i really do like the Charlotte Tilbury luxury palettes, the shades are ideal for my lifestyle and every colour i would need to create a simple look is in one small quad. The Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadows are some of the best on the market and the most comparable to Tom Ford shadows. I would recommend this eyeshadow palette to anyone who loves smooth high-quality eyeshadows, enjoys designer and high-end makeup and neutral eyeshadow shades; these palettes also make beautiful gifts for people. I personally love the Charlotte Tilbury quads and have collected 5 so far.
You can buy the Golden Goddess Luxury Eye Palette from Charlotte Tilbury & Selfridges in the UK.
It can be purchased for $52 from Nordstrom and Beautylish in the USA.
Do you own any of the Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Palettes?
