Now i know reviews on this palette have been around the beauty world for ages now, but i wanted to put out my own personal view on the palette for those of you who have asked me what my opinion is, seeing as price wise it is not within everyone's budget. So....I must admit that when The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette first came out around the holidays of 2013 I must have been the only makeup lover who was not swooning over it and gave it to the hype to pre-order it when it released in the UK Beginning of 2014. If i am honest i don't particularly love Chocolate... there i said it...
the only time i have craved chocolate my whole adult life i have been anaemic and pregnant lol. I personally have more of a sweet tooth towards Haribo's or Marshmallows, but i generally try to avoid sweet treats as my teeth are uber-sensitive. Cringe!
However, after seeing a few of my favourite beauty Girls on YouTube creating beautiful looks with the palette, i found myself drawn to some of the shades, and their influence had me wanting to part ways with my money and purchase it through Debenhams (I have no willpower when it comes to Youtube lol). The palette amazingly smells just like chocolate as each eyeshadow is blended with natural antioxidant-rich cocoa powder, hence the sweet chocolate aroma you inhale when you flip open the lid. Making this palette utter perfection for all you chocolate lovers out there. I personally found the smell overwhelming and sickly, but after a few weeks the aroma died down a bit and today i have became accustomed to the delicious smell (without craving chocolate).
Now we have got the smell out of the way lets move onto the quality of the shadows, as personally i don't purchase stuff due to the smell, however the packaging does put a 20% input for me on whether i will purchase something or not, but we shall move onto that in a bit.....
The Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette contains sixteen sweetly-decadent eyeshadows in both Matte and Shimmer Formulations with the occasional hint of glitter. A wonderful mix of Natural Browns, Warm-Golden Bronze's and Cool pastels tones, this palette has something for everyone. The pop of baby pink and plum shades make this palette more playful than your standard neutral palette.
The matte eyeshadows are very very smooth to the touch and are velvety in texture, which means there can be a tad bit of fall-out; The the glitter eyeshadows are smooth with a slightly gritty texture with more fall-out but apply beautifully on the eyelid, all of the shades are very rich in pigment. I personally feel Too Faced make some top quality eyeshadows, which apply beautifully and blend easily. Even though there are an array of shades containing fine glitter-shimmer i experience very little fall out as I often find with buttery smooth eyeshadows there can be a lot of fall-out, however with these it is not the case. I only found 2 eyeshadows in the palette needed more work to smooth out or pack on colour ( 'Strawberry Bon Bon' and 'Candied Violet'), which thankfully are 2 shades i do not reach for a great deal. However though it may take more work than the additional shadows in the palette, once layered and blended out seamlessly both eyeshadows look very pretty on the lid. None of the eyeshadows crease (and i have fine lines) and all i find are long-wearing, i often find that i have no need to wear an eye primer underneath due to this.
On to the actual Packaging.....The Overall design of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette is Cute, girly and whimsical in the shape of an actual chocolate bar, with the palettes description engraved onto the front of the casing. Too Faced products always have such beautiful packaging, with their creative know how they sure know how to steal a girls heart. I purchased my Chocolate bar palette back in the beginning of 2014 when the original packaging was chunky (which i personally feel was a waste) however today they do have a more slimline case, which is much cuter and more realistic of a chocolate bar (come on we can dream that chocolate bars are this thick lol). The smaller eyeshadows are 0.03 oz. each, while the two larger ones are 0.10 oz. each.
The palette is made from sturdy metal, has a magnetic enclosure and a mirror insert, making this palette ideal for travel. Also included in the packaging is a few step by step pamphlets to create several eye looks using the eyeshadows in this palette (which is ideal if you are unsure of which shades mix well with one-another and where to apply). I feel this palette is a perfect gift for any girl of any age whether she is a teen or some-what more mature.... because in reality (besides myself) what girl does not like chocolate or neutral eyeshadows?
The sixteen shades included in the Chocolate Bar palette are named after delicious chocolate treats that you may find in a classy box of chocolates....

I personally love the Two Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette and recommend. My personal favourite's from the palette to are: White Chocolate, Marzipan or Hazelnut all over my lid. Milk Chocolate, Salted Caramel or Semi Sweet in the Crease and Gilded Ganache, Black Forest Truffle or Cherry Cordial to deepen up the outer crease.
The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette has been so successful that Too Faced Created the 'Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette' which released this year and i have yet to purchase (expect a review when i do). I don't usually gravitate too much towards Too faced products as i feel their products and packaging seemed to be geared more towards younger women in their teens and 20's, however this palette with it's buttery soft eyeshadows and pigmentation definitely have me wanting to explore more of their eyeshadow palettes. I already own the 'return of the sexy' palette but i feel it's more appropriate for someone younger than myself in my 30's. If you are more mature or suffer with sensitive eyes then i highly recommend that you give this palette a try.
The Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Retails for £39 through Debenhams.
