After purchasing the Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadow duo in 216 from the Fall 2014 collection after being inspired by Monsiieur Alex, i found myself still lusting after the other shadow i didn't get, the 'Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadow duo in 215 Cool Tan/Ruddy Earth'. It seems to be one of Aucoin's most popular eyeshadow duo's as it is pretty much always sold out. Luckily the makeup fairies up above heard my cries and after Beauty Bay let me down Space NK swooped in to the rescue....
Kevyn Aucoin Eye shadow Duo in 215 Cool Tan/Ruddy Earth is perfection because of the earth-toned neutral shades it contains, shades i always gravitate towards. I like that they are neutral shades that can be worn all year round and aren't just seasonal or limited edition, though i would definitely recommend this for the Autumn months coming up!! You need this in your collection. Both of the eyeshadows in the duo are perfect for everyday use and this eyeshadow duo has become a new staple in my everyday makeup routine along with the BECCA ombre nudes palette.
Each eyeshadow duo compact features two shades of eyeshadows full of micronized powder pigments and pearls that glide onto the skin effortlessly. I find Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadows to be super smooth and delightful to pat onto my eyelids. I have very sensitive eyes with hooded lids so i like to use a concoction of buttery soft eye shadows with makeup brushes that could rival a teddy bear.
I have mentioned many a times about my holy-grail eye brushes by Wayne Goss. The shadows can be applied dry for a sheer more natural look or you can dampen your brush to intensify the color ( i personally have not tried this yet as i prefer a more natural look). I find these last well on me throughout the day getting 8 hours wear wearing no eye primer. I swear i am rubbish at remembering to apply eye primer lol.
- Cool Tan - Is a cool toned Taupey Tan, it's base is matte but its has fine shimmer and is extremely soft
- Ruddy Earth - Is a deep reddened brown, it is matte with tiny shimmer particles and isn't as soft to the touch as Cool Tan.
As the eyeshadows are super pigmented they will last a long time.

Overall i really like the quality of Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadows, they don't swatch phenomenally but applied on the eyes is a whole new story, and i would love to pick up a few more of the eyeshadow duos which i prefer over the Essential eye palettes.
