The bronzer is available in six shades with M signifying “natural matte” and I signifying “iridescent” with respect to the finish. Firstly the whole name was confusing i saw people call it 25L ( For Luminous Finish ) and 25I ( for Iridescent Finish ) i went by what i feel it is called and that is "25I".
As i stated previously i was disappointed upon receiving the bronzer it just felt like i got sucked into the hype. I've started ignoring the judgements of so many Youtube Beauty bloggers, i just feel so many are no longer genuine and it becomes a channel on bragging about what they have added to their collection before it's released with over-hyped first impression reviews, but then 'we' end up falling for the hype, purchasing the products and having our excitement crushed and money wasted. They all just seem to be doing and saying the exact same things ( I will be doing a best of Youtube Bloggers post shortly ). The reason why i was so disappointed in this bronzer is because it is so warm! It is pretty much straight up orange on me ( see comparison swatches down below ).
On to the packaging the Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion contains 0.38 oz / 11g of product which is about average, the bronzer itself is housed in a beautiful sleek Chocolate-bronze mirrored plastic compact, which looks luxurious but does feel light and cheap. Make Up For Ever is one of those in the middle brands its not as affordable as drugstore but its not quite Luxury either, especially when you consider the packaging however they produce great quality products and i categorise them the same as Mac.
Cheap packaging aside the bronzer looks absolutely stunning with waves of golden goodness and a generous sized internal mirror. The bronzer itself is a very warm toned golden bronzer that feels almost gel like to the touch ( it feels the same as the Tom Ford Moodlight & Laura Geller Gelee's ) with teeny golden shimmer particles. 25I is best described as a warm medium brown with orange-yellow undertones. I decided to put my negative first impressions aside and decided to give this a go on my face....
The texture is fairly firm and even though it feels smooth to the finger tips, it is a lot firmer and harder to come off on a brush. I use a dense kabuki style brush to apply with a light hand ( Make Up For Ever did launch their 136 Pro Bronze Kabuki Brush alongside these but i already own several kabuki's ). I find that i can get the most colour payoff using a dense brush. As beautiful as the pattern is it makes it hard to get good even coverage on the brush; as for being waterproof i cannot vouch for that as of yet, but it does wear well lasting around 7-8 hours. The bronzer offers buildable colour, so this is ideal for those who like a sheer wash of colour that looks natural on the skin or for beginners as it is impossible to over do it with this bronzer ( if you like the warm-toned look). It has a natural-looking, radiant finish for that sunkissed glow. It leaves a luminous finish on the skin, the shade definitely runs darker and warmer on the skin than in looks in the pan.
If you are after a very warm-toned natural looking bronzer then this could be for you, this isn't the type of bronzer you can contour with, but it can be used to warm up the complexion. I personally prefer to contour with a cool toned powder ( like my Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting powder ) and warm up my face a little ( and i mean a little as i don't want to look like a giant orange ) with this bronzer to help me achieve a sun kissed glow. I think its so orange on me because of the Yellow undertones in the bronzer mixed with the yellow undertones i my skin-tone. I do have to apply a little amount as it can turn extremely orange on me. Despite my view on this being too orange it is one of the most natural bronzers i own. So many powder bronzers are very noticeable in direct sun-light where as this is undetectable on the face and leaves a naturally sunkissed glow. This bronzer is more ideal for the summer months too but i will not be touching it throughout the cooler months. Would i repurchase this product, probably not. It might just be because I'm so yellow toned that this pulled more orange on me, but from what i have seen all of the bronzers lean very warm.
It would have been nice to have seen some more cooler toned bronzers, more golden-bronze base instead of red or yellow based. I hope Make Up For Ever at least consider adding more neutral and cooler toned bronzers to their collection.
