Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage Review & Swatches

The Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage palette was my first Tom Ford eyeshadow quad and it became one of my favourite palettes the moment it first touched my eyelid. I really didn't want to like it as its so pricey and i knew if i did it would open the dangerous door of me wanting them all.

Tom Ford quads are designed with 4 shades designed to compliment each other, in that it will help you to acheive a multiple of looks: from a simple everyday look, a bold slash of colour to a sultry smokey eye.
Tom Ford quads come with 4 luxurious finishes Matte, Sheer Sparkle, Satin and Shimmer (each quad being different) offering a spectrum of intensity and effects.

For me i think the Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage Eye Colour Eyeshadow Quad stands out the most among the line; not because of the simple neutral colours (which most will consider as boring), but because it is made up of mostly matte eyeshadows (3 out of 4) unlike most of the palettes full of shimmer, making it a perfect staple for creating everyday eye looks. The quad may appear to have basic shades but they are of the highest quality. Each rich eyeshadow is exceptionally smooth, finely milled, highly pigmented and an absolute delight to apply, especially when used in conjunction with my Wayne Goss eye brushes. I love that Tom Ford eyeshadows are buttery smooth but do not have a lot of fall-out making them perfect if you just want to blend a bit of shadow into the crease and head straight out the door. Honestly any brush picks up an impressive amount of pigment and they blend out beautifully on the lid for a natural yet defined look. The magnificent stately and weighted packaging with its interior mirror and 2 applicators make this quad perfect for travel, also included with every quad is a protective sleeve to help preserve the luxury brown casing with gold hardware.

The Cocoa Mirage is one of Tom Fords most popular eye colour quads, I also love that the shadows are more warm-toned in the Cocoa Mirage quad.

Cocoa Mirage Shades:

Matte Bone/Vanilla (Top Left)
Matte Soft Neutral Tan (Top Right)
Warm Chocolate Shimmer - with a red under-tone (Bottom Left)
Matte Dark Bark Brown (Bottom Right)

The Cream/Vanilla shade is my most favourite in the quad and the Tan shade is a perfect everyday Crease colour. Honestly because these are not at all powdery like most eyeshadows they glide beautifully over my eye lid without creasing enhancing my fine lines. I really hope Tom Ford will eventually do what Burberry has and release single versions of his eyeshadows because i would stock up big time on the Vanilla Shade, the best cream eyeshadow ever.
