First impressions can be deceiving....Admittedly when i first swatched the Becca Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme on my hand it came as a huge shock! This is honestly the thickest foundation i have ever owned ( pretty much the same consistency as the more Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation). Those who know me via Instagram know i am more of a natural-light consistency kind of girl who enjoys sheer to medium coverage when it comes to my foundations. So, initially i was a little scared to try out something that could potentially look like a mask on my face. Sometimes my beauty obsession and curiosity encourages me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things, so i decided to give the foundation a go...

I was matched to the Shade Nude, which is pretty much spot on for my summer shade ( MAC NC30 ), Buff is my NC25 shade for the colder months. It is hard work to blend in the Ultimate coverage foundation, or at least it is to someone like me who is used to runnier liquid foundations, that just pretty much blend themselves; but don't let this put you off of this foundation as i assure you the extra work put into buffing it into the skin is well worth the end results.
I have tested alot of brushes with this foundation and found that i enjoy using two particular brushes. The first being the *Becca One Perfecting Brush now this is a multi-purpose brush, the goat hairs are super soft and densely packed. The shape of this brush makes it easy to cover a large area at once, however as much as i love this brush i do find it sheds a little bit and it can take a while to blend it in due to the thick consistency of the foundation, so i prefer it more for my everyday light consistency foundations. So my favourite brush to work this foundation into the skin is the Elf Studio Powder Brush, which is super affordable! It is a medium sized, densely packed, synthetic flat top kabuki style brush. For only a few dollars this brush is amazing for foundations that are harder to blend. I often use this particular brush for powder foundations and it gives me a full coverage and flawless look. I randomly reached for it to apply a sample of the Giorgio Armani Designer Lift foundation and loved the result, so i decided to try it with the BECCA foundation and it was honestly love at first try. Who would have thought they would be a match made in heaven? A pricey-ish foundation and a drugstore brush? I prefer synthetic brushes to blend out thick foundations otherwise the foundation could damage my brush hairs.

BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme in Nude
What sets this thick consistency full coverage foundation apart from the rest on the market, is that it looks like real skin! Yes you read right, once buffed into the skin it look like perfected real skin. Something the Estee Lauder Double wear and Kat Von D Lock It Foundation could NOT achieve as i felt they looked to matte and obvious. It does remind me of the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in pigmentation. Once you take the time to work this foundation into the skin it looks simply stunning and almost airbrushed. You cannot feel the foundation on your face at all which i really love. I also love that it doesn't cling to my dry patches or make my t-zone more oily. It literally is like a barrier that smooths over the skin and makes me look flawless! I find that my concealer lasts longer without creasing this foundation as a base ( i only apply under the eyes lightly if im wearing this for a night time event ) resulting in me having to use less concealer to cover my dark circles. Win, Win!
BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme is highly pigmented so it can be mixed with a moisturiser, serum or light facial oil if you prefer lighter coverage or a more radiant glow. The longevity of this foundation is AMAZING, it honestly lasts all day and night and best of all it holds up in the humidity and heat ( chances are if you ever see me in a club this is the foundations i am wearing ). It does not oxidize so what i get in the tube is the shade it remains on my face the whole time i am wearing it, which i personally like. I like that the foundation comes with a pump and disperses the product evenly so there is no wastage. I swear this foundation has got to be some kind of magic in a bottle.
BECCA currently have 14 foundation shades to choose from and as a brand they are always adding extra shades on both sides of the skin shade spectrum - from the fairest if them all to beautiful deep shades.I am so thankful that Kerry ( BECCA's Style Director ) was kind enough to send me this to try out and matched me perfectly to the shade Nude. I would say this works out around a MAC NC25-30, a light foundation just entering the medium skin-tone range. I honestly cannot say a single thing negative about this foundation or this Brand, you know you can say that whole heartily when you have never found a single product bad from a brand.
Overall the BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme foundation i would highly recommend. If you are not a full coverage foundation fan and prefer a more sheer skin tint then this foundation wont be for you, but if you are someone who is looking for a full coverage long-lasting foundation and are considering the Estee Lauder double wear then i would highly recommend you test this out. Especially if you have normal, combination to oily skin, those with dry skin or irritated acne prone skin could enjoy mixing a drop of elixir or oil into it, to make it blend easier so that it is not to cling to any irritated dry areas. In all honesty the full coverage pigmentation alone is worth the purchase of this foundation. I never would have though such a full coverage foundation would make it into my top favourites.
The BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme retails from £30-£34 in the UK and is available through QVC and Space NK. It retails for $44 in the USA and is available through BECCA directly, Sephora & Ulta. Next on my BECCA wishlist to purchase is the Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation and the BECCA Ever Matte Priming Perfector.
