I was so ready to order the limited edition Vegas Nay palette but before i placed my order i started to see previews of the Christmas holiday palettes and decided against that palette and instead opted for the Le Grand Chateau collection. There are definitely no regrets here not only is the design appealing on the eyes but the quality of the eyeshadows are amazing also. While i was checking out at Debenhams i noticed the Too Faced Happily Ever After Lip & Cheek Duo's which contain super teeny weeny mini versions of the Love Flush blush and the melted lipsticks. I will say i was very disappointed when i saw the size of the blush its so ridiculously tiny it looks like it should be a palette for one of my daughters barbie dolls, however i do like the quality of the blush and i guess this is a great way to test out the product before deciding to buy the full size. It seems brands really know how to be tight at Christmas time ripping people off with cute designs and small quantities. Too faced are lucky they are a brand i love, so they are well worth my pennies.....
So, lets talk about the best thing to come out of the Too Faced Holiday sets the 'Le Grand Chateau' collection. Consisting of a beautiful oh-so-chic french chateau housing 3 individual palettes containing a total of 18 beautiful and super pigmented eyeshadows, two blushes and one bronzer. It also comes with a deluxe-mini size of bestselling Better Than Sex Mascara, which i have yet to try but have been meaning to for quite some time now. This set makes the perfect gift for Christmas for that special person who loves makeup and beautiful looking display items. You can also give each palette as a separate gift making it ideal as a stocking filler. Personally i am keeping the whole set for myself ( yes im greedy ) lol, its just far too cute to share lol...
The Chateau itself is the usual pretty baby-pink that you associate with Too Faced Cosmetics, it has matte grey and metallic gold accents with a magnetic closure. It looks simply stunning displayed on your makeup vanity. As you open up the house it is like a large walk in closet/dressing room with a chaise longue, a shopping bag full of Too Faced goodies, two mannequins showcasing beautiful classic gowns, elegant black and white tiled flooring and through the window the Eiffel tower in on display in the background. The whole intricate design of this set is just simply stunning, ever-so-girly and well thought out. I swear every year Too Faced just get better and better with their designs and as always they knock the ball way out of the park! Everything is always so feminine and whimsical, it's no wonder they are one of the biggest cosmetics brands on the market today, and though they mostly cater to the younger generation with their designs and packaging the quality of the products also cater for women of my age, and when in reality do we outgrow such girly designs?
There are three palettes each with their own names, though the names of the palettes are not displayed on each individual palette but they can be found on the back of the original retail box the chateau came in has the names displayed on the back. I love the pretty bow details on everything and the mix of colours, its just so pretty and girly. Each palette contains six eyeshadows all of amazing quality and pigmentation, normally brands dull down the quality on gift sets but no quality whatsoever has been reduced for this collection hence the price. It also comes with a corresponding blush that is supposed to compliment the eyeshadows.

Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Swatches L-R: Amour - Fleur - Je t'aime
Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Swatches L-R: Moi - Cherie - Tout Suite
Amour is a silky smooth ivory off white shade that is beautiful all over the lid or to set under the brow bone. Fleur is a duo chrome rose gold with a strong pink hue, the pigmentation is amazing and it applies to the lid just as smoothly and opaque as it does swatched on the finger. Je t'aime is your typical too faced baby pink shade with a pretty pearlescent finish, it is also super buttery and pigmented, Je't'aime is stunning as an inner corner highlight. Moi is a beautiful shimmery light golden bronze, super soft and pigmented. Cherie is a shimmery taupe which is also super smooth and pigmented. Moi and Cherie are super soft but not as smooth as the other 4 shadows in the palette so do kick up a bit of product. Lastly Tout Suite is a warm metallic bronze which is super smooth. Then the bronzer 'Jolie' is a warm toned bronzer with a beautiful sheen that helps to achieve that sun-kissed glow. It is strongly yellow based so i think its suited better as a blush topper.
Black Palette - Paris After Dark
Le Marais eyeshadow - Metallic white/pink duo-chrome
Rendezvous eyeshadow - Matte Mauve
Provence eyeshadow - Grape Purple with purple glitter reflects
Parfait eyeshadow - Peachy pink shimmer
Tres Chic eyeshadow - Matte black with purple glitter
Noir eyeshadow - Matte black
Tres Fab blush - Satin Medium baby pink
Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Swatches L-R: Le Marais - Rendezvous - Provence
Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Swatches L-R: Parfait - Tres Chic - Noir
Le Marais is a soft duo-chrome white with pink , it is the least pigmented shade out of all the shadows but is still super pretty as an inner corner highlight. Rendezvous is a beautifully soft matte Mauve, which is a cross between a grey and a beige its a beautiful cool toned crease shade. Provence is a pretty purple with blue/purple micro sparkle glitter, the pigmentation needs building up a bit more than the others and it does kick up a little bit of powder. Parfait is a pretty shimmery peachy-pink champagne shade, it has really good pigmentation. Tres Chic is my favourite eyeshadow in this palette it is super rich and pigmented, a matte black with purple and gold glitters. Noir is a matte black, it does need building up and isn't as rich in pigmentation as the Tres chic eyeshadow but it does the job. Tres Fab Blush is a medium pink with a satin finish that almost feels semi-matte.
Green Palette - Paris Au Naturale
Pot Du Creme eyeshadow - Matte cream
Fifi eyeshadow - Matte Golden Camel brown
La Femme eyeshadow - Matte Dark bark brown
Bonjour eyeshadow - Orange based gold
Merci eyeshadow - Dark bronze
Oui eyeshadow - Blackened brown with gold glitter
Mademoiselle blush -Matte Coral Peach
Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Swatches L-R: Pot Du Creme - Fifi - La Femme
Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Swatches L-R: Bonjour - Merci - Oui
This is my favourite palette out of the three as i am a die-hard neutral girl. Pot Du Crème is a light beige with matte finish that is buttery soft i am very pleased with all the matte shadows in the palettes, too faced make some of the smoothest matte eyeshadows on the market. Fifi is a medium matte warm-brown once again silky soft, it is almost identical to MAC soft brown which is one of my favourite transition shades. La Femme is a deep-dark brown again super soft, pigmented and blendable.
Bonjour is a metallic gold that is orange based, it applies silky smooth. Merci is a beautiful dark shimmery bronze with great pigmentation and texture. Oui is a very deep dark brown that almost looks black it is matte with gold glitter particles, it is so soft so it does have some fall out, its hard to pick a favourite in this palette as i love all of them. Mademoiselle Blush is a matte peachy coral, that is super smooth and has great pigmentation, my favourite out of the three cheek products.

The Le Grand Chateau retails in the UK for £45 and can be found through Debenhams. Debenhams currently have a 20% off sale so it is currently available for only £36.80 and would make the ideal Christmas gift.
Too Faced Happily Ever After Lip & Cheek Duo
I picked up the nude lip and cheek duo which consists of a deluxe mini size of the popular Nude melted lipstick and a micro ( i wouldn't exactly call it deluxe ) love flush blush in the shade Love Hangover. I will admit that they do look super cute in miniature size, the size can be fantastic for adorable little stocking fillers. The best thing about the packaging and the products themselves is that they are suitable for any age, so any woman would love this adorable little gift set ( though probably not if shes extra mature ). The Melted lipstick in nude is a warm beige and the love hangover love flush blush is a coral based pink.
The little Happily ever after lip and cheek duo set retails for £12 in Debenhams though it is currently on sale at present for £9.60 with 20% off.
You can view all of the Too Faced Holiday Gift sets in the UK here and USA here. Of course the USA always has more options than we do.
Have you chosen anything from the Too faced Holiday collections?
