MUA Cosmetics Glitz Lipstick Review & Swatches

* Gifted / PR Samples

Considering i have been on a massive red-lip kick throughout the month of December ( I guess it helps me to start feeling festive ) I was especially happy to have received the Limited Edition Metallic lips Lipstick in Glitz. MUA Cosmetics decided to release it exclusively for the holiday's a few months after they released their original seven Autumn/Winter Collection ( Which i reviewed here ). I personally love the metallic liquid lipsticks by Makeup Academy and i also love a rich and glossy red lip, so i instantly had high hopes for this...

The first thing that you notice about the gloss ( if you already own their metallic lips ) is that the packaging is different. Instead of the handle being the traditional gunmetal grey the limited edition lipstick has a gold handle, which is very festive and i think we have all established by now how i feel about Gold.... Magpie.... MUA Really have been killin' it in the cosmetics industry throughout 2015 and i cannot wait to see what they bring us in 2016. They really are a brand that i have fallen in love with this year.

Now onto the shade itself.... When i was originally sent the preview of the Autumn/winter collection i questioned why there was not a red shade included in the collection, but i see why now that MUA really did decide to save the best shade until last, and it was ingenuous to release in time for the Christmas holidays and good marketing. The limited edition lipstick is called 'Glitz' and i would describe it as a beautiful scarlet cherry-red with gold shimmer particles and a pink undertone. It very much reminds me of my favourite lipstick combination last Christmas the Limited Edition Mac Viva Glam Rihanna lipstick, layered with the matching lipglass and Cherry lip-liner. Only the bonus with this is i can get a more pigmented lip with just one product. Honestly this shade on the lips is just simply stunning and i would recommend everyone swatched it, in fact never mind swatching just buy it. I for one will be be buying back ups of it.

I feel the Metallic liquid lips are a cross between a liquid lipstick and a lipgloss. The pigmentation of the lipstick and high shine finish of a lip gloss. The MUA metallic liquid lipsticks are super pigmented, feel comfortable on the lips, apply opaque and are pretty long-wearing, plus they smell delicious. I like MUA lip products because i don't find they irritate my lips ( like with Maybelline, Loreal, Barry M lip products just to name a few ) and in my opinion they are some of the best in the drugstore. I personally love a bit of gold shimmer in a lipstick or lip gloss and this lipstick is right up my ally. I would say the warm shade of red is very flattering on a wide variety of skin-tones from Fair to deep, it definitely flatters my light-medium warm skin-tone.

Swatches

Swatches L-R: Mac Cockney - Viva Glam Rihanna - Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass - MUA Glitz - Mac Head in the Clouds - Limecrime Cherry on Top.

I am very picky about my Red lip products and have a Red lip holiday edition blog post coming up, which you will notice how small my 'red lip product' collection is. Glitz is by far the most pigmented out of all the lip products i swatched onto my arm ( the fourth one along ), which is insane considering it is the cheapest in the whole line up. If you get just one product from the drugstore this Holiday season it should be this, you are guaranteed to turn some heads wearing this over the party season.

The MUA liquid lipsticks retail for £4 each, however this shade is not being sold seperately for some reason, it is being given as a free gift when you spend £8 on selected MUA cosmetics products in Superdrug which you can view the deal here. I guess i will be buying a lot of MUA products for family and friends then just so i can get back up's of this lipstick.

Have you tried any of the MUA metallic liquid lipsticks?
Are you more of a glossy red or matte lip kind of girl?

Thanks for Reading Lovelies
