Inside my Summer makeup bag....Now that we are entering July ( i know June rushed by ) i have been enjoying embracing summer makeup more and pulling out products that add that glow and that beach bronzed look. I for one prefer less makeup in the summer ( honestly full face girl i don't know how you do it - tell me your ways ) so, i tend to skip out on the heavier foundations and powders. Now people will think i am weird for saying this but i hate hot weather!!!... anything over 25 degrees is just far too much for me and i'm panting and sweating like a gorilla in a gym. Give me Canadian snow over Barbados heat any day. So it does mean that i struggle finding makeup that wont melt off of my face like a wax figurine at a Madame Tussauds museum when its hot out. Not that us Brits really seem to be getting a summer at the moment - it's more like monsoon season. I hope those two weeks we had heat wasn't our summer over and done with.... i guess only time will tell. Anyway there have been a selection of products that i have been loving this month so lets take a look....

Lets begin with...... A Flawless Base: I'm all about glowy primers and dewy foundations that are lightweight, fairly long-wearing and wont make me look greasy, at the moment. Longevity is a must as the humidity here in England is killing me lol....
I have been loving the Becca Backlight Priming Filter - £32 for the past few months. As i have gotten older i have pulled away from matte foundations which can be ageing and now i opt for more dewy, glowing foundations that add a luminosity and a healthy appearance to the skin. If your skin lacks life or radiance then this is a primer you will love. It can be applied to bare skin for an all-over subtle dewy glow or it can be used under your base of choice. Whether it be a liquid, powder or cream foundation. It's a soft, golden beige that is thicker in texture and less shimmery than the Becca shimmering skin perfectors. Another primer i love so much is the Dolce & Gabbana Sheer Radiance Makeup Base - £46. If MAC Strobe Cream and Chanel Le Blanc had a baby together, it would be this beauty! Its like having a million shiny pearls crushed and placed on your face and i find that every foundation lasts so much longer with this primer underneath! Originally i didn't like the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation - £32.50 as it just wasn't long-wearing enough for me, however teamed with the D&G primer it now lasts all day! The YSL Touche Eclat gives such a light-to-medium coverage that looks just like skin with a beautiful natural glow. I am in the shade B30 which suits my NC25-30 skin-tone perfectly. My most worn base product for the past few months has been the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Cc+ Cream - $38. Just like the packaging says it is 'full coverage' but it doesn't feel at all heavy or look cakey. You get the coverage of a foundation with the lightweight consistency and skincare benefits of BB cream. An ingredient a lot of people don't know that it contains is 'Snail secretion filtrate' and is the 4th ingredient listed. I personally love the snail, as it has wonderful benefits for the skin. I ordered mine from Beautylish. The only beauty tool i have used all month for bases has been my Beauty Blender Pro - £16. A must have if you want flawless foundation that looks like skin.

I have only reached for one concealer the whole month and that is the Maybelline Fit me Concealer - £5.99. It has amazing coverage and is perfectly lightweight for this warmer weather. Amazingly i have not been wearing a great deal of powder, it took some willpower to put my trusty Chanel Les Beiges powder down and show some love to another powder. So, i went back to my trusty MAC Minersalize Skinfinish Natural powder - £24. This sets my foundation lightly without being heavy or leaving a cake-like appearance on the skin, especially when used on conjunction with the Hourglass 01 Powder brush - £48, which is like rubbing soft angel wings across your cheeks ( the No.2 brush is still on my wishlist ). On the days i am out the house i swear by the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder - £29. It can be drying and ageing if you apply a bit too much, so i gently press a small amount under the eyes using my Beauty blender. I have never ever used a concealer that doesn't crease or a powder that doesn't cake up a bit under my eyes, and it is because of my eye shape and the fine lines that i have. So don't expect miracles with a concealer or powder. Don't beat yourself up if your under-eyes don't look flawless.

That Bronze and Glow: The title says it all, warm bronzers with a slight hint of shimmer to add luminosity and life to the face and sun-god highlighters that could make a diamond stop and pause for a moment.
I have barely contoured all month ( shocking i know - these chipmunk cheeks need that extra definition ) but when i have decided to subtly contour i have reached for the Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate - £56 in Intensity One. It's so creamy and blends into the skin like a dream, especially when used on conjunction with the Wayne Goss 01 brush - $45 which is angled and sized perfectly to fit in the hollows of my cheek bones. I have however been about that bronzer life - but then again when am i not? I wear it all year round lol. The good thing about summer is that you can bronze up more and it always compliments a tan. Its only during the summer months i find myself gravitating towards more warmer-toned bronzers. I previously wrote about my favourite bronzers on my blog ( which you can read here ) so it should come as no surprise that the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow - £49 is a bronzer i reach for a lot. I find the subtle shimmer perfect for achieving a radiant bronzed-glow to the skin, used in conjunction with the Wayne Goss 00 brush- $85 the result is simply stunning! The other bronzer i have loved recently has been the Giorgio Armani Sun Fabric Sheer Bronzer - £50, which i have it in the shade 100. I would describe it as a warm medium bronzer that is perfect for those with a light-to-medium skin tone. It's so finely milled and richly pigmented that it still has the pattern design on it!
I've been so obsessed with achieving that glow i have used 3 highlighters on my face! Yes 3 lol ( magpie much? )....a liquid, a cream and a powder! One of my all time favourite liquid highlighters in the summertime is the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid - £32. If you could bottle up J-Lo beach goddess in a bottle it would be this! Plus who doesn't love that chic Chanel jar? I use the MAC Cream Colour Base in Pearl - £16 for a beautiful eye-catching highlight along my cheek bones and follow up with a powdered highlighter like the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Oh, Darling ( Limited Edition ). Which is a beautiful metallic yellow based gold, i usually prefer more bronzed highlighters than gold but this is simply stunning! Another highlighter i cannot get enough of at the moment is the Laura Mercier Illuminator in Indiscretion ( Another Limited Edition item - sorry ). Indiscretion is more of a peachy based gold, its much more flattering on those with warmer skin-tones and is very similar to MAC's Soft & Gentle. The Zoeva 129 Luxe Fan Brush - £11 has been my brush of choice with powder highlighters.

Pops of Colour: Because it is summer after all and summer is about beautiful, bold and bright colours. In June i prefer to edge into colour gradually but i have gravitated towards more pinks
I am starting to feel a little guilty about all of my neglected blushes in my collection, as only two blushes have graced my face throughout the whole of June. My addiction to the Chanel Powder Blush in 72 Rose Initiale - £31 is real! Though Chanel blushes aren't as pigmented as say Becca or Nars, to the cheeks beautifully and build up well. I must also mention that they are super long-lasting too. The Louise Young LY06 Brush - £26 and the It Cosmetics No.4 Heavenly Luxe French Boutique Blush Brush - £27 apply the Chanel blushes beautifully. Rose Initiale is a beautiful pinky-coral that gives the perfect touch of natural rosy blush to the cheeks. I have been addicted to a Chanel lipstick ( when am i not? ) and it is the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Romance - £25! It compliments the blush beautifully ( which you can see here ). I love that the rouge coco shine lipsticks are sheer but still effective, plus they are ultra nourishing on the lips. Romance is a beautiful mid toned pink that flatters every skin-tone. I have been layering the YSL Gloss Volupte in 10 - £22 over top for a full-looking glossy pout. I promise to introduce more bold lipsticks into my makeup routine throughout July and August.

A Little Warmth and Depth: I used to shy away from really 'warm toned' eyeshadows but this month i have been all about rich terracotta brown eyes with a touch of shimmery bronze, along with simple fluttery, long eyelashes and no winged liner.
'Chocolate Cookie' in the Too Faced Natural Matte Palette - £32 has been giving me life this month! Oh pretty please Too Faced Cosmetics, make this in a single shadow! I pack chocolate cookie all over my eyelid and use my MAC 217 Blending Brush - £20 to blend the shadow up into my crease for a warm slightly smoked out look. The other warm eyeshadow i have been obsessed with is 'Brique' within the Viseart Neutral Mattes palette - £59.95 ( review here ). Two other shadows is MAC Soft Brown - $16 and MAC Saddle Eyeshadow - £13. Now that the humidity is really high here in the UK a lot of mascara have been smudging on me, so i have been completely hooked on the *DHC Double Protection Mascara - £14.50! It is honestly AMAZING!!!! This stuff stays put all day all and all night, it really reminds me of the Benefit They're Real mascara in how stubborn it is to remove, but its so much cheaper. I honestly cannot rave about this mascara enough. Thank you so much Abigail! If you want to know anything about DHC products then she's your girl! Brows were kept simple using the *It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil - £22. My brows only take a couple of minutes to do each morning now thanks to this speedy bad boy. I find it smooth to apply and long-lasting.
So, What did you love throughout the month of June? I'm excited to see everyone's July makeup bag.
Thanks for Reading Lovelies
