5 Beauty Products I'm Loving - April Edition

So it's been a couple of months now since i did a monthly favourites blogpost about the beauty products i am currently loving, so i thought it was about time i caught up. Especially seeing as i have a fair few new discoveries i am dying to share with you. So this is the 2nd instalment of my '5 Beauty Products I'm Loving' series on the blog, as i actually forgot March's (bad blogger Jamey), but to be fair i have had a lot going on in my personal life. You can catch up on what i was loving during February here (in fact i am still obsessed with all of those products) however now there are now some new obsessions that have joined them. So without further ado here are the products i have been obsessed with over the past couple of months........ keep your eyes peeled for an exclusive skincare favourites blogpost coming up soon....

1. Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream* - £69 / $80 | As you may have seen recently if you follow my blog or my Instagram i have been testing out the New Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Skincare line for around 6 weeks. The Hydrating Cloud Cream is by far the must have super-star product of the entire line up, even though i personally think every product is wonderful (no i am not sponsored to say that). I generally think Perricone MD have been on a role over the past year first with the amazing Pre:Empt Series and now with their revolutionary H2 line. The entire Elemental Energy line is powered by Hydrogen (which Perricone MD are naming it's H2 Energy Complex™). This stable form of hydrogen is incredibly powerful at deeply penetrating the skin to help energise and activate skin cells, adding vitality back into the skin through intense hydration. The revolutionary formula really helps to infuse hydration into dull, tired and dehydrated skin that is lacking in water-moisture. The texture is incredibly unique and lightweight. The result is always perfectly hydrated, refreshed and balanced skin. If you struggle with unbalanced skin i highly recommend you try this out, because even after just a week of use you will notice a huge difference! This is the only day moisturiser i have reached for over the last 6 weeks, and that says something! You can read more about this moisturiser here and the entire H2 Elemental Energy line here.

2. BECCA First Light Priming Filter - £32 / $38 | Despite being someone who doesn't like the colour purple, i gravitated towards this pretty lilac primer like it was a glittery unicorn flying through the sky. So the moment payday came around i couldn't put the primer and this other Becca product into my basket quick enough. I have been a fan of the Backlight Priming Filter (and pretty much all Becca products ) for quite some time now (you can find more Becca reviews here), But i think i have to say that i love this primer even more! Dare i say that this is my favourite Becca product yet? The lavender-toned lightweight primer really helps to brighten up dull, tired and sallow-looking skin parting a beautiful soft-focus dewy glow that will wake up any complexion. I find that it blends into the skin seamlessly as if they were one, and leaves behind a beautiful lit-from-within, healthy sheen. I imagine if you crushed some beautiful pearls and mixed with some finely powdered diamond dust and dusted them all over your face, it would look a little something like this. It's honestly stunning and my favourite glowy primer to date (I've tested a fair few). What’s more, the formula gets its lightweight texture from the use of refreshing Spring Water and Hyaluronic Acid to help hydrate and plump up the skin, Prickly Pear Flower to re-energize skin and Ginger to help combat redness and soothe any skin irritations. Ginger also helps to improve the appearance of skin because it helps to increase circulation. Many people with oilier skin have said they are too nervous to try this, but my oily-combination skin loves this! I find that the inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid really helps to keep the skin moisturised all day, therefore producing much less oil. This is everything i wanted the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Primer to be, and it's more affordable! This used under the foundation mentioned in this post gives me flawless-looking skin that lasts all day! This is the perfect morning wake-me-up product for anyone like myself who gets next-to-no sleep, as well as those suffering from a self-inflicted hangover or jet lag. It's like cheating a good facial, ssh no one will ever know! This product is another perfect example of 'good for you cosmetics', that infuses good skincare with makeup. Well done Becca.

3. Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation - £34 / $40 | I discovered the Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation last year and was intrigued as i had never heard anything about it before. Everyone seemed to be a huge fan of the Custom Cover Drops, but their other foundation formulas never seem to get a mention. Which is a shame as i have to say that Cover FX, in my opinion, has some of the best foundation formulas out there! The only problem is trying to find the right shade (online) as there are so many shades to choose from it can be a little overwhelming. I also find the shades differ with each foundation formula. Even though i have a warm undertone, i find neutral-toned foundations suit me better (otherwise when they oxidise i can end up looking like something off of the Simpsons) Crikey! Before i started using more skin-brightening skincare products the shade N35 suited me perfectly, now i am more of an N25 so i mix in a couple of drops of The Body Shop Lightening Drops to get my correct shade. The texture of this foundation is unusual and somewhat thick, like a lotion/cream hybrid. However, it doesn't feel heavy or thick on the skin once blended in (unlike this and this). I love to apply this foundation with a dense buffing brush like this or this and then go over with a damp beauty blender to make sure everything is blended into the skin. It is one of those foundations that takes a little while to set but i like that, as it means i have more time to work with it to make sure its perfected before it sets. The foundation formula is enriched with vitamins C & E which help to brighten, protect and help with ageing (meaning this is one that looks lovely on those with fine lines), i like that it smooths over fine lines, dry patches and pores. It's a buildable foundation that can be taken from sheer to full coverage, however, i personally prefer this as a light-medium coverage and if i want extra coverage i use the Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation underneath beforehand (which also has an spf of 30 btw). The finish is very natural with a slight healthy glow, but not glowy enough to be considered a dewy foundation. However, i do enjoy mixing in a couple of drops of these to add a sun-kissed glow. Though this is oil free i always set my oily areas (the t-zone) with a powder and i find the more hours that go by, the more beautiful this foundation looks on the skin.

4. Kevyn Aucoin Liquid Contour Wand - Sculpting Medium - £38 / $48 |  Kevin Aucoin practically pioneered contouring in the beauty industry, and despite every company following the contouring trend and coming out with their own versions of contour products, i always find myself reaching for his products over anyone else's! I like that every Kevyn Aucoin product i have ever tried has been of the highest quality and i have been a fan of his medium sculpting powder, creamy glow sculpting duo and his contour book for a long time now. So, i knew the moment i saw the release of his contour wands that i just had to try them out. Both Cult Beauty and Love Makeup only stock the contour shades (i couldn't see the highlight shades) so i chose a contour shade i knew would suit me the best, Medium. Initially, i thought medium would be too dark (after seeing 1 swatch online) but it suits me perfectly. I love how the product is housed in a pen with a soft-bristled brush that you click to dispense for easy application, it's like a giant Touche Eclat Pen. However, i use the pen for precise application but i prefer to use a small buffing brush or beauty blender to blend it out. The texture is lightweight just like a concealer and blends seamlessly into the skin, lasts all day and layers extremely well with contouring powders over top. It works over top of all foundation formulas and it even blends well over-top of powders (i learnt by mistake when i set with powder beforehand one day lol). If you are someone who wants to start contouring but are too nervous that it will look a little too drastic or drag queen like, then i highly recommend this. I will say the only flaw i found is it doesn't last long, sadly i only got around 10 uses before it completely ran out, and for the price personally, i feel like its a bit of a rip off!

5. The Perfect Eyebrow Duo | OK so this last favourite might be cheating a little, but seeing as i have not done a monthly favourite in a couple of months i thought it would be acceptable to include this dynamic duo together! Especially seeing as i use them both together every day to perfect my brows. I honestly don't remember how i ever did my brows before the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo and the Louise Young Angled Brow Brush LY30 brush came into my life! I usually team the powder over any brow pencil i am using that day, my favourites are this and this, no others compete! The Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Ebony is the perfect product for perfecting brows that look natural, avoiding that harsh bold what i call mean eyebrow. As i have gotten older i have come to realise that having a softer brow appears more youthful, especially as i don't have good full brows to begin with and my eyes are hooded. I have learned to accept that my imperfect brows will always be distant cousins that hate each other behind each other's back lol. I'm not blessed to have brows that look like sisters, but at least now they stay put and look fabulously natural all day long.

All of the products within this post are also cruelty free. So these are the products that really stood out to me the most over the past couple of months. I will admit that it was hard to choose just 5 (*cough 7 lol) especially as i had a lot of new skincare items i was loving, but as i mentioned i will be doing a blogpost exclusively on the skincare items i am loving. I would love to know what beauty products have you been loving recently? Do any of the products i shared in this post intrigue you?.....

Thanks for Reading Lovelies
